Our Executive Staff
Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Jim Karp is the founder of several real estate, warehousing, and distribution companies, including America Place. His experience as an entrepreneur created opportunities in healthcare where he was involved in the founding of RX Crossroads and PharmaCord, patient – services companies.
A 1974 graduate of Indiana University, Mr. Karp served as first Lieutenant in Viet Nam and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal.
Over the years he has provided his time and energy to Boards and Charities, focusing specifically on Education, Culture and Community Social Issues.
Executive Vice President
As Executive Vice President & Director of Finance, Lyn is responsible for the management of the financial actions of the company. Duties include human resources, financial planning, monitoring cash flow, risk management, as well as analyzing the company’s strengths and weaknesses and implementing corrective actions. As America Place’s senior executive, she serves a critical role in every aspect and function of the company. Lyn also serves as a steward for the Karp’s philanthropical foundation, working with various organizations to carry out their mission.
Lyn is a Louisville native and a Bellarmine University Graduate. She has served on numerous boards, focusing on education and culture, and is currently overseeing the development of the River Ridge Learning Center.
Director of Real Estate
Taylor oversees the development strategy and manages the real estate portfolio. Taylor administers lease negotiations and maintains tenant relationships. In addition, Taylor’s duties include the overall marketing strategy and implementation.
Taylor is a Louisville native with a background in Banking & Finance. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky and a Master’s in Business Administration from Bellarmine University. Taylor serves on multiple community boards including One Southern Indiana, KY CCIM, and the Bellarmine Ruebel School of Business.
Operations and Development Manager
Eric supervises all construction projects / new developments, acting as liaison between the general contractors and ownership. Tasked with keeping projects on time and on budget; he has successfully managed the construction of all 5 of America Place’s buildings in River Ridge. Additionally, Eric is responsible for managing the maintenance staff and operations.
He is a southern Indiana native that has been in the construction and property management industry for 12 years. Eric serves on Prosser’s Advisory board for Construction Trades and serves on his local youth baseball leagues board at HYR.
Assistant Real Estate Manager
Mollie provides global support to all areas in the company. Her duties include billing, marketing, scheduling, procurement, tenant relations, and various administrative responsibilities.
She recently received her Master of Business Administration from Bellarmine University after receiving her undergrad shortly before from the same university.
Daryl is an experienced leader in technology and software development. Daryl’s primary responsibilities are to lead America Place’s technology strategy; this includes security, analytics, data management, and software evaluation & design. Daryl’s background includes being a software development leader with a major Healthcare Payor, IT Security Analyst for the United States Government, and overall solutions designer that led many solutions across small businesses. Daryl has degrees from ITT, Embry-Riddle & Bellarmine Universities.
David directs the daily operations of the real estate portfolio. Serving as the point person for all tenant requests and building maintenance, he spearheads tenant improvement projects and manages the sub-contractors working within the properties.
David is a New Albany native that has been in the construction and property management industry for 8 years with a Degree in Management & Marketing from Indiana University.
As the Financial Controller for America Place, Bill Thompson manages the finance and accounting activities of the company. He prepares the financial reports, processes payroll, ensures tax compliance, analyzes the general ledger activity, safeguards assets, and oversees the budgeting process.
Bill lives in Kentucky and has been a Certified Public Accountant for 30 years. He serves his community through coaching youth sports and volunteering at his local church.
Community Engagement Coordinator
Ray serves as a liaison between America Place and the Southern Indiana community, using the valued messaging from the community to assist the continual development of the River Ridge Learning Center.
Ray is a Louisville native, graduating from the University of Louisville with a BS in Sports Administration and is currently pursuing his MBA at the same University.
Community Engagement Coordinator
Stephen Stivers is one of the Community Engagement Coordinators and acts as one of many points of contact between America Place and the Southern Indiana community while also conducting research on different projects. Stephen is a Louisville native with a background in customer service and computer science and received his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Tufts University.
Director, River Ridge Early Learning Center
As the Director of the River Ridge Early Learning Center, Ms. Micco oversees all aspects of the development, design, daily operations and future expansion of the River Ridge Early Learning Center, which serves to support the workforce, businesses, children and families of the River Ridge Commerce Center.
Della brings 24 years of experience in various leadership, management, coaching for quality improvement and accreditation, and teaching roles within early childhood education and music education, in public and private schools, and for both for-profit and non- profit organizations. She has a B.S.in Music Education/Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
