America Place is a Champion Investor and avid supporter of One Southern Indiana, the Lead Economic Development Organization and Chamber of Commerce for Clark and Floyd Counties. 1si proactively works to grow our regional economy through business attraction, retention, and expansion; through encouraging and supporting entrepreneurs and workforce development and more.
WorkOne Southern Indiana
WorkOne is an organization that helps people find new or better jobs, choose careers, access training and get the information needed to succeed in today's job market. WorkOne Southern Indiana provides employment and training services for businesses located in America Place at River Ridge. The organization serves Clark, Crawford, Floyd, Harrison, Scott and Washington counties in Indiana.
WorkOne's Business Services Team helps local companies recruit great job seekers at no cost by connecting them with recruiting platforms, available training grants and customized services for each particular business. They also help job seekers learn important soft skills and hard skills, such as workplace professionalism and industry-specific technical skills. These job seekers become career-ready and can be referred to local companies at no cost.
Greater Clark County Schools (GCCS)
Greater Clark County Schools (GCCS) is located in southeast Indiana along the Ohio River. GCCS is the 20th largest school district in the state of Indiana operating twenty school buildings: twelve elementary, three middle, two high, one middle/high and two alternative schools. Serving a student population of approximately 10,500, GCCS offers a variety of courses and programs to serve students at all academic levels.
We are a one-to-one computer district, placing Chromebook laptop computers in the hands of all students in grades 3-12 which allows them to acquire the necessary 21st century proficiencies to prepare for college or the workforce. The district’s mission is for stakeholders to give 100 percent effort in meeting the academic and behavioral needs of each student ensuring acceptance to a post-secondary opportunity.
